Don't give up on PRAYER!

Hindrance to Prayer
"And he shall bring it to pass" (Ps. 37:5).
I once thought that after I prayed that it was my duty to do everything that I could do to bring the answer to pass. He taught me a better way, and showed that my self-effort always hindered His working, and that when I prayed and definitely believed Him for anything, He wanted me to wait in the spirit of praise, and only do what He bade me. It seems so unsafe to just sit still, and do nothing but trust the Lord; and the temptation to take the battle into our own hands is often tremendous.
We all know how impossible it is to rescue a drowning man who tries to help his rescuer, and it is equally impossible for the Lord to fight our battles for us when we insist upon trying to fight them ourselves. It is not that He will not, but He cannot. Our interference hinders His working.  --C.H.P.
Spiritual forces cannot work while earthly forces are active.
It takes God time to answer prayer. We often fail to give God a chance in this respect. It takes time for God to paint a rose. It takes time for God to grow an oak. It takes time for God to make bread from wheat fields. He takes the earth. He pulverizes. He softens. He enriches. He wets with showers and dews. He warms with life. He gives the blade, the stock, the amber grain, and then at last the bread for the hungry.
All this takes time. Therefore we sow, and till, and wait, and trust, until all God's purpose has been wrought out. We give God a chance in this matter of time. We need to learn this same lesson in our prayer life. It takes God time to answer prayer.  --J. H. M.

Don't give up on prayer or give in to despair
Could be the answers going to come today
Look to God and you will see
Don't give in to old unbelief
Look to God and don't give up on prayer!

SHE SHALL BRING FORTH A SON

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

What a beautiful thought! God with us. God in the flesh, coming down to mortal men. Dwelling amongst us. Coming down as a baby, born in the most humble place...a manger. Coming down. Living with us, crying with us, laughing with us, sharing in our temptations, sharing in our joys, but without SIN! God with us. Jesus, coming to be the sacrifice for all man kind. Jesus, the son of God, God in the flesh. King of Kings and Lord or Lords, choosing to dwell with sinful man, to live and die for us! We are the ones with the sin. We are the ones who are not worthy, yet God saw fit to come in the form of Jesus His only begotten Son and to willingly die so that we might live! What an awesome and loving God we serve! And all of this, a free gift to us. All we have to do is confess our sins, be sorry for them, forsake them and ask God to forgive us, and tell him we accept the free gift of salvation through his son Jesus Christ. We are guilty, but Jesus already paid the price! This Christmas receive the best gift ever! The free gift of salvation through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

John 3: 16, 17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters
Did you know that your baby boy would walk where angels trod
When you've kissed your little baby you've kissed the face of GOD!
Mary did you know?

Who is Leading?

"O Lord , I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps" (Jer. 10:23).
"Lead me in a plain path" (Ps. 27:14).

Many people want to direct God, instead of resigning themselves to be directed by Him; to show Him a way, instead of passively following where He leads. --Madame Guyon

I said: "Let me walk in the field";
God said: 'Nay, walk in the town";
I said: "There are no flowers there";
He said: "No flowers, but a crown."
I said: "But the sky is black,
There is nothing but noise and din";
But He wept as He sent me back,
"There is more," He said, "there is sin

I said: "But the air is thick,
And fogs are veiling the sun";
He answered: "Yet souls are sick,
And souls in the dark undone."

I said: "I shall miss the light,
And friends will miss me, they say";
He answered me, "Choose tonight,
If I am to miss you, or they."

I pleaded for time to be given;
He said: "Is it hard to decide?
It will not seem hard in Heaven
To have, followed the steps of your Guide."

I cast one look at the fields,
Then set my face to the town;
He said: "My child, do you yield?
Will you leave the flowers for the crown?"

Then into His hand went mine,
And into my heart came He;
And I walk in a light Divine,
The path I had feared to see.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.
17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:
18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:
19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:
20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:
21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:
22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.
23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:
24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.
25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.
26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Are you THANKFUL for what God has done for you? God has sent His only begotton Son so that WE could have eternal life! Jesus died that I might live! Jesus died that you might live! But it didn't stop there! He rose again and lives eternally and through Him we can have eternal life too. Have you excepted His free gift? Are you thankful for Jesus? If Jesus has changed your life and made it new, I challenge you to leave your testimony in the comment section and give GOD the glory! Let's be THANKFUL! Shine your light for Jesus! If your not saved, Jesus wants to save you! All you have to do is be sorry for your sin, turn away from it (repent) ask Jesus into your heart and tell him you except his gift of salvation! Jesus said to come! Come to Jesus TODAY! You will NEVER regret it!

Thank you Lord for saving my soul!
Thank you Lord for making me whole!
Thank you Lord for giving to me
Thy GREAT SALVATION so FULL and FREE!

Don't Give Up...

Psalms 31:24
Be of good courage, and he shall STRENGTHEN your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Psalms 119:28
My soul melteth for heaviness: STRENGTHEN thou me according unto thy word.

1 Peter 5:10
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, STRENGTHEN, settle [you].

Psalms 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall STRENGTHEN thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Is your heart heavy? Do you wonder if you can go on? Do you wonder if God is still there? Don't give up. God is there. And He knows your pain and your suffering. His word says that after ye have suffered a while He will make you perfect, stablish you and Strengthen you. Sometimes we go through hard places because God is doing a work in us or working things OUT of us. Let Him have His way. He knows what is best.

Remember, we can trust a saviour who died just so that we might live. Trust Him.

Have a great Day in the Lord!

Don't give up~ God will fullfil His promises~

Delayed

"Know of a surety that thy seed shall be sojourners a land that is not theirs; . . . they shall afflict them four hundred years; . . . and afterward they shall come out with great substance" (Gen. 15:12-14).

An assured part of God's pledged blessing to us is delay and suffering. A delay in Abram's own lifetime that seemed to put God's pledge beyond fulfillment was followed by seemingly unendurable delay of Abram's descendants. But it was only a delay: they "came out with great substance." The pledge was redeemed.

God is going to test me with delays; and with the delays will come suffering, but through it all stands God's pledge: His new covenant with me in Christ, and His inviolable promise of every lesser blessing that I need. The delay and the suffering are part of the promised blessing; let me praise Him for them today; and let me wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen my heart. --C. G. Trumbull

Unanswered yet the prayer your lips have pleaded
In agony of heart these many years?
Does faith begin to fail? Is hope departing?
And think you all in vain those falling tears?
Say not the Father hath not heard your prayer;
You shall have your desire sometime, somewhere.

Unanswered yet? Nay do not say ungranted;
Perhaps your work is not yet wholly done.
The work began when first your prayer was uttered,
And God will finish what He has begun.
If you will keep the incense burning there,
His glory you shall see sometime, somewhere.

Unanswered yet? Faith cannot be unanswered,
Her feet are firmly planted on the Rock;
Amid the wildest storms she stands undaunted,
Nor quails before the loudest thunder shock.
She knows Omnipotence has heard her prayer,
And cries, "It shall be done" -- sometime, somewhere.
--Miss Ophelia G. Browning

-Streams in the Desert-

It is so easy to get frustrated in the "delays", but I have found during all the delays, I can hear that still small voice saying "you have need of patience". We never know WHY God allows delays, but He tells us in His word to "trust him" and to "wait on Him" and then He will strengthen us. His timing is ALWAYS PERFECT! Don't give up in the making of a miracle, don't give up on prayer, don't give up on God!

Don't give up on prayer
or give into despair
Could be the answers going to come today!

Have a great day in the Lord! :D

Make A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord!

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Psalms 98:4-8

With all the Holidays just around the corner, and all the different events being planned, and all the "works" being done in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ it is easy to get stressed out and have your "Joy" fizzle away! And isn't that just what the devil would like? For us, God's saints, to be so worn out that we can't even make a joyful noise? That we are unable to be thankful. That we are unable to "shine" for Jesus?

There are SO many things that can threaten to steal away that Joy and cause us to just throw up our hands and say, "what's the use anyways?! Forget it!". But that would not be a joyful noise for us, for the souls we are trying to reach, or (most importantly) to the Lord! One thing I am learning is when life tries to take away my joy by all the different happenings that I have no control over, I have to just get on my knees and ask God to help me get my focus off of the turmoil and hustle and craziness and back on to Him. Help me to keep my eyes on the Lord. Help me to do my best to have my focus on keeping the right attitude, the right spirit, and the right vision by keeping Him and His purpose (not my own)as my focal point. When I do that I find that the load all the sudden becomes much lighter and my "Joy" becomes UNSPEAKABLE and then I am able to "MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD!"

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye Lands!
Make a joyful noise to the LORD!
Serve the Lord with GLADNESS
Serve the LORD with GLADNESS!
Come before his presence with singing

Know ye that the Lord
He is GOD
It is He that hath made us
and not we ourselves

We are His people
We are His people
And the sheep of His Pasture!

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye Lands!
Make a joyful noise to the LORD!
Serve the Lord with GLADNESS
Serve the LORD with GLADNESS!
Come before his presence with singing

Know ye that the Lord
He is GOD!
It is He that hath made us
and not we ourselves.

We are His people
We are His people
And the sheep of His Pasture!

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and praise
Be thankful unto the Lord and bless his name.
For the Lord is good, his mercy is ever lasting
And his truth endureth to all generations.
Make a joyful noise...Unto the Lord

Prisoner of the Lord

Joy in Prison

"And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.
The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper."
(Gen. 39:20-23).

When God lets us go to prison because we have been serving Him, and goes there with us, prison is about the most blessed place in the world that we could be in. Joseph seems to have known that. He did not sulk and grow discouraged and rebellious because. "everything was against him." If he had, the prison-keeper would never have trusted him so. Joseph does not even seem to have pitied himself.

Let us remember that if self pitty is allowed to set in, that is the end of us -- until it is cast utterly from us. Joseph just turned over everything in joyous trust to God, and so the keeper of the prison turned over everything to Joseph. Lord Jesus, when the prison doors close in on me, keep me trusting, and keep my joy full and abounding. Prosper Thy work through me in prison: even there, make me free indeed. --Selected

A little bird I am,
Shut from the fields of air,
And in my cage I sit and sing
To Him who placed me there;
Well pleased a prisoner to be,
Because, my God, it pleaseth Thee.

My cage confines me round,
Abroad I cannot fly,
But though my wing is closely bound,
My soul is at liberty;
For prison walls cannot control
The flight, the freedom of the soul.

I have learnt to love the darkness of sorrow; there you see the brightness of His face. --Madame Guyon

-Streams in the Desert-

This devotion also reminded me that even our Lord and Saviour went to prison, and then was beaten and hung on a tree so that we might have the hope of Heaven and a better life. Let us do our best to "sing" praises even in our heavy or darkest times and trials. We have everything we need if we have Jesus!

Have a great day in the Lord! :)

Love Each Other

"He left us His Word...."

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (love), I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profiteth me nothing. And now abideth faith, hope, charity (love), these three; but the greatest of these is charity (love). 1 Corinthians 13: 1,2,3,13

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Romans 13: 8-10

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. These things I command you, that ye love one another. John 15:9-14,17

What is beyond love...?
The answer is NOTHING

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never ends, LOVE never fails!

God is LOVE!
God never FAILS!
Let us abide in Him!
Let us LOVE one another!

Have a great day in the LORD!

Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart!

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be THANKFUL unto him, and bless his name.
Psalms 100:4

I have had the thought of "Thankfulness" on my heart for a while. I believe God LOVES to hear praises of a thankful heart! I know that as a mother when I do things for my children I like to hear them be thankful. I like to know that they appreciate what I have worked hard to give them or teach them. It makes me feel good inside when I see them being "thankful" for what I have sacrificed my time, effort, and desires to make sure they are growing up healthy and happy. On the other hand, if they act spoiled, ungrateful, or just "take for granted" the things I have strived so hard to do for them, that makes me frustrated, disappointed and sometimes even a little angry.

I believe that God is no different. God is our Spiritual parent. He is our creator. He is our Father. He sacrificed His most precious possession, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that we (the world) might be able to make heaven our home. He gave us the gift of salvation. He gave us hope. He gave us His love. He provides our every need, both physically and spiritually. God gives us everything we need and He LOVES to hear us be THANKFUL for what He has given! Let us enter into His gates with "Thanksgiving"!

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy one
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ His Son!

And now let the weak say I am strong
Let the poor say I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us!

Give thanks, He forgave my SIN!
Give thanks, I have peace within
Give thanks, because I have blest Liberty
I'm FREE!

GIVE THANKS!
We give thanks to you Lord!
We give THANKS!!!

With GOD all things are possible!

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, ALL things are POSSIBLE to him that believeth.
Mark 9:23

So how is your belief? Do you have something in your life that you need GOD to help you with? Do you have a need in your life that you know would take a MIRACLE from God for it to work out right? Do you have a health condition that you need God to HEAL you of? An affliction on your body? What is it? God's word tells us that if we believe then it IS possible. But first we have to believe God. Do you believe that God created you? Do you believe that God sent His only son to die for you? Do you believe that God loves you? Do you believe God?

And he DID NOT many mighty works there because of their UNBELIEF.
Matthew 13:58

One of the reason's that we don't see God work the miracles that we hear about in the bible is simply because we have unbelief working in our life's. One of the conditions for God to work in our life's is that we have to first BELIEVE. We cannot even get saved if we don't first believe. We have to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he came and lived and died and rose again so that we could be saved. We could also call this FAITH. Belief in God is also FAITH in God.

One way to begin to build our FAITH is by praying to God. In Mark the 9th chapter we see a father who comes to Jesus and asks Jesus to heal his son. Jesus asks Him can you believe. This is His response or prayer to Jesus.

Mark 9:24
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

If we are honest with God and ask Him to help us wear we are weak in faith God is always faithful to help. This man was honest and simple acknowledge that he had some unbelief trying to work on Him and He cried out to Jesus. HELP MY UNBELIEF!

So it is with us. If we can simply be honest with God and cry out to Him, he will be right there to "help us believe".

Luke 18:27
And he said, The things which are IMPOSSIBLE with men are POSSIBLE with God.

SIMPLY BELIEVE!

In His Name

"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).

During the Civil War, a man had an only son who enlisted in the armies of the Union. The father was a banker and, although he consented to his son's going, it seemed as if it would break his heart to let him go. He became deeply interested in the soldier boys, and whenever he saw a uniform, his heart went out as he thought of his own dear boy. He spent his time, neglected his business, gave his money to caring for the soldiers who came home invalid. His friends remonstrated with him, saying he had no right to neglect his business and spend so much thought upon the soldiers, so he fully decided to give it all up. After he had come to this decision, there stepped into his bank one day a private soldier in a faded, worn uniform, who showed in his face and hands the marks of the hospital. The poor fellow was fumbling in his pocket to get something or other, when the banker saw him and, perceiving his purpose, said to him: "My dear fellow, I cannot do anything for you today. I am extremely busy. You will have to go to your headquarters; the officers there will look after you."

Still the poor convalescent stood, not seeming to fully understand what was said to him. Still he fumbled in his pockets and, by and by, drew out a scrap of dirty paper, on which there were a few lines written with a pencil, and laid this soiled sheet before the banker. On it he found these words:

"Dear Father: "This is one of my comrades who was wounded in the last fight, and has been in the hospital. Please receive him as myself. --Charlie."

In a moment all the resolutions of indifference which this man made, flew away. He took the boy to his palatial home, put him in Charlie's room, gave him Charlie's seat at the table, kept him until food and rest and love had brought him back to health, and then sent him back again to imperil his life for the flag. –Selected

Walk in truth and sin no more!

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things [is] death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

-Romans Chpt. 6 Original King James Bible

What is your spirituale mirror reflecting?

The Holy Bible, the Word of God has many references to how we are to bear good fruit once we are saved. It doesn't have to be a mystery to us on whether or not we are bearing good fruit. All we have to do is look at the scripture and then look at our life and measure our life to the scripture. When we do this it is like putting a spiritual mirror in front of us. We are spiritually looking in a mirror and saying I like what I see and I bear the image of a Holy life through Christ or we look in that spiritual mirror and see that we have some blemishes that need to be brought to God and worked on so that when others see us they see only His (Jesus) image. Here are just a few scriptures to look at to help us see our own image more clearly!

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Deny Thyself and Follow Him!

And when he (JESUS) had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

-Mark 8:34-38 Original KJV

deny oneself- to refrain from satisfying one's desires or needs; practice self-denial.

Take up your cross today and follow Jesus. You will never regret it!

A Song in the Storm

Legend has it that a long-ago German baron formed an aeolian harp by stretching wires from one castle tower to another. After finishing it, he listened eagerly for its music. But it was summertime and the warm, gentle breezes and sunshine produced only faint whispers of song. Then one day-BOOM, a thunderstorm swept over the hills. The wind blew fiercely at the wires, and the harp responded with the most majestic music.

It's in the storms that we too should have a song. Life is not always easy. Troubles will burst like thunderstorms on our horizons. And if you are in a storm right now, I have a message for you. Isaiah 43:1,2 "Fear not:for I (GOD) have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. "

Did you hear that? "I will be with thee." God will never leave us. No matter how dark the valley, He is right there. He's not saying we won't have trials. We will. He's not saying the way is easy. It's not. But He's promising that He will be with us-and He's also saying, "Look ahead!" There are better days coming. We're not home yet. Will we stay faithful and keep our eyes on the goal? Faith, after all, is not believing when we see, it's believing and trusting when we don't see; when we don't understand.

So when the waves are high and the sky is dark, keep trusting. And don't forget.

"Yet the Lord will command his loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life" (Psalm 42:8).

Keep singing. Victory is ahead, for the battle is His!

The Just Shall Live By Faith

"The just shall live by faith." (Heb. 10:38).

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as [in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God.

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw [he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
- Hebrews Chpt. 11 Original King James Version-

Distinguish between the fact of God's presence, and the emotion of the fact. It is a happy thing when the soul seems desolate and deserted, if our faith can say, "I see Thee not. I feel Thee not, but Thou art certainly and graciously here, where I am as I am." Say it again and again: "Thou art here: though the bush does not seem to burn with fire, it does burn. I will take the shoes from off my feet, for the place on which I stand is holy ground." --London Christian

SIGNS OF THE NEW BIRTH

"Ye must be born again." John 3:7

The answer to the question "How can a man be born when he is old?" is - When he is old enough to die - to die right out to his "rag rights," to his virtues, to his religion, to everything, and to receive into himself the life which never was there before. The new life manifests itself in conscious repentance and unconscious holiness.

"As many as received Him." (John 1:12.) Is my knowledge of Jesus born of internal spiritual perception, or is it only what I have learned by listening to others? Have I something in my life that connects me with the Lord Jesus as my personal Saviour? All spiritual history must have a personal knowledge for its bedrock. To be born again means that I see Jesus.

"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3.) Do I seek for signs of the Kingdom, or do I perceive God's rule? The new birth gives a new power of vision whereby I begin to discern God's rule. His rule was there all the time, but true to His nature; now that I have received His nature I can see His rule.

"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin." (1 John 3:9.) Do I seek to stop sinning or have I stopped sinning? To be born of God means that I have the supernatural power of God to stop sinning. In the Bible it is never - Should a Christian sin? The Bible puts it emphatically - A Christian must not sin. The effective working of the new birth life in us is that we do not commit sin, not merely that we have the power not to sin, but that we have stopped sinning. 1 John 3:9 does not mean that we cannot sin; it means that if we obey the life of God in us, we need not sin.

TRUST with ALL THINE HEART...

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

To trust in the Lord with all your heart is sometimes easier said then done. Sometimes we think we are trusting and then God allows us to go through something very difficult and we start to question God. We start asking 'Lord are you sure this is the right thing? Are you sure that you want me to go this way?' Why would the Lord allow this or that? We begin to doubt- I don't know if God really cares. If God cared why would he let this happen?

When we begin to question then God comes in and shows us in a very tender way- you are not trusting me. And then He begins to ask the questions back. Do you believe I love you? Do you believe I would only do what is best for you? Do you really TRUST me? Do you trust that I know whats best? Do you trust me with your trial? Do you trust me with that thing you treasure most? Are you willing to give it ALL to me and leave it knowing that I know whats best? Do you trust my judgement? Do you trust my love?

How is it with you?

Are you trusting the Lord with ALL your heart or are you holding back a part?

Let us do our best to give everything to God and TRUST HIM with ALL OF OUR HEART!

HOLD ON and HOPE in the LORD

Psalms 43:5
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? HOPE in God: for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

Psalms 31:24
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that HOPE in the LORD.

There is HOPE, so hold on there is HOPE!
God has sent me here to tell you there is HOPE!
And He knows just what your going through
and what your future holds.
As long as JESUS LIVES there is HOPE!

Psalms 146:5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose HOPE is in the LORD his God:

Early in the morning...

Psalms 5:3
My voice shalt thou hear in the MORNING, O LORD; in the MORNING will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Psalms 55:17
Evening, and MORNING, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

One of the first things I learned after I got saved was the importance of starting my day off right and ending my day right in prayer and devotions. I believe this is one of the most vital things you can do in your Christian walk. Prayer is our time and personal connection with the Lord. It's the way we communicate with our saviour; so, to begin and end our day with Him shows God that He is the most important thing to us. He is first. Our first thought when we wake and our last thought when we lay our head on our pillow to sleep.

Another reason to start our day with the Lord is to not face others without first giving and trusting our day to God. If we neglect to do this then we are more vulnerable to the enemy and His traps. We need to remember that our strength does not lie in ourselves, but rather our strength is in the Lord Jesus Christ, and if we neglect to start and end our day with Him it is like going to war without any weapons or armour.

Let us not forget to start and end the day with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Begin the day with God!
He is thy Sun and Day!
His is the radiance of thy dawn;
To Him address thy lay.

Sing a new song at morn!
Join the glad woods and hills;
Join the fresh winds and seas and plains,
Join the bright flowers and rills.

Sing thy first song to God!
Not to thy fellow men;
Not to the creatures of His hand,
But to the glorious One.

Take thy first walk with God!
Let Him go forth with thee;
By stream, or sea, or mountain path,
Seek still His company.

Thy first transaction be
With God Himself above;
So shall thy business prosper well,
And all the day be love.

Cast down but not destroyed

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God; and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed: we are perplexed, but not in despair: Persecuted, but not forsaken: cast down but not destroyed: Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10

I have been through the valley of weeping,
the valley of sorrow and pain;
But the "God of all comfort" was with me,
At hand to uphold and sustain.

As the earth needs the clouds and sunshine,
Our souls need both sorrow and joy;
So He places us oft in the furnace,
The dross from the gold to destroy.

When he leads thro' some valley of trouble,
His omnipotent hand we trace;
For the trials and sorrows He sends us,
Are part of His lessons in grace.

Oft we shrink form the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Husbandman knows
That the deeper the cutting and paring,
The richer the cluster that grows.

Well He knows that affliction is needed;
He has a wise purpose in view,
And in the dark valley He whispers,
"Hearafter Thou'lt know what I do."

As we travel thro' life's shadow'd valley,
Fresh springs of His love ever rise;
And we learn that our sorrows and losses,
Are blessings just sent in disguise.

So we'll follow wherever He leadeth,
Let the path be dreary or bright;
For we've proved that our God can give comfort;
Our God can give songs in the night.
- Streams in the Desert-

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name. Revelation 3:12

Let us not be weary in well doing and in our trials.

Have a great day in the Lord!
